Open Minded Prospecting with Tanya Aliza

So you’re prospecting a new lead and you find out they are already doing something that they love to do. Now what? The key here is to remember to use an open minded approach so your message can be delivered and received without triggering defensive behavior. After all, if they spent years studying or in the field and find great value in their work, then you will likely come off as a total you-know-what if you lead by saying how their profession isn’t as good as your opportunity. Additionally, if they are already in network marketing, then telling them your product/opportunity/payment plan is better will likely do the same.

In the video below Tanya Aliza shares how to prospect when your leads already love what they do! Tanya mentions what not to do with a technique she refers to as, “Calling your baby ugly.” Your baby is your current situation (profession or otherwise) and calling your baby ugly refers to the language used when presenting a “better” or “superior” opportunity to your current one. Most times the advice is unwarranted and is often given without any inquiry of your prospect’s current situation. Check out the video below to learn more!

In 2009, Tanya read The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss, and it changed everything for her. She discovered network marketing when a girlfriend invited her to a business presentation. The presenter stated they were making $350,000 a year and that it took them three years to get there. Tanya grabbed the application! In 2010, Tanya got a call that her dad had had a stroke and passed away that Sunday. While she was taking time off from work to be with her family, she realized that she still had money coming in from her network marketing business. That was the exact moment she understood residual income.

She retired from her finance job in June of 2010. She began learning how to take her business online in late 2010 so that she could move to Costa Rica and continue to build her business in paradise. In 2013, she became the proud recipient of the “Expert of Experts” award. She’s a personal branding specialist that loves helping people generate leads and make sales online. She had many multi-six-figure product launches and now loves teaching others how to do the same.
