Mary Kay Products Launches Awards Program that Honors Voices of Domestic Violence
DALLAS – Mary Kay Ash Heart of Courage Awards, an awards program that aims to recognize passionate individuals and organizations advocating to stop and end domestic violence and abuse in the United States, has been formally launched today by its mother company, Mary Kay products.
Mary Kay Inc. Vice President for Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility, Crayton Webb, explains: “We created this program as a way to stand with our community and recognize the unsung heroes working to preventing domestic violence and dating abuse. For more than 20 years, Mary Kay has been committed to ending domestic violence. We now want to recognize those we stand alongside in this fight by bringing awareness and recognition to their tireless efforts.”
Nominations for the said award have been opened to the public and involve the following categories:
- Leader in Prevention: an award given to organizations, programs or individuals doing excellent work in preventing domestic violence as well as dating abuse by promoting healthy and appropriate working behaviors and making sure that such abuses are pre-empted before they happen.
- Media Visionary: open to members of both online and traditional media who uses their platform to introduce awareness about domestic violence and/or abuse. The nominee does not need to work directly with a domestic violence program or organization to qualify for the said award.
