Amway Products Recognized for Commitment to Scientific Excellence

Direct selling company earns recognition from NSF International for its 30-year dedication to product performance and certification.

Amway products have done it again, as the Michigan-based billion dollar business recently received recognition for 30 years of dedication to product certification and performance in the residential water treatment field.

NSF International certified Amway’s first water treatment device in 1987 and since then, both have made a tremendous impact on residential water treatment certifications by working together to develop new industry standards as well as expanding existing ones.

Amway R&D vice president Catherine Ehrenberger had this to say: “At Amway, collaborative spirit has always been a mainstay in supporting product certification and standards development, through open innovation, we have been able to provide consumers with confidence in the performance of their eSpring products,” she further said.

Amways largest-selling brand of home water treatment systems, the eSpring water purification system treats more than 160 possible contaminants, which includes mercury, lead, and pharmaceuticals.

Amway products and NSF International’s initiatives, though more focused on drinking water, has extended to other specific product categories that includes home product standards and certifications and dietary supplements.

NSF International President and CEO, Kevan Lawlor was all praises for this accomplishment.  We congratulate Amway on their 30 year commitment to consumer safety and public health as demonstrated by the NSF International certifications they hold for water treatment, home and nutrition products.  We are so pleased to work with Amway as we share many of the same values including integrity and high ethical standards,” he said.

The eSpring water purification system is exclusively sold and distributed by Amway Business Owners around the globe. If you want to find more eSpring and its availability in your country, please visit www.amwayglobal.com.

About NSF International

NSF International is a worldwide, independent organization that publishes standards, and tests and certifies products for the water, food, consumer goods industries and health sciences to reduce adverse health effects and preserve the environment (nsf.org). NSF International was founded in 1944 and is committed to protecting global health and safety. With offices in more than 165 countries, NSF International is a Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center on Food Safety, Water Quality and Indoor Environment.

NSF International spearheaded the development of the American National Standards for all materials and products that come in contact with drinking water. In 1990, the U.S. EPA replaced its own drinking water product advisory program with NSF International standards.  Most major plumbing codes today require certification to NSF standards specifically for pipes and other plumbing components in both commercial and residential establishments.

The NSF International Health Sciences Division provides  training and education, consulting, auditing, GMP and GLP analytical testing, DNA testing, certification, R&D, regulatory guidance and corporate compliance for the pharma biotech, medical device, dietary supplement and bottled water/beverage industries throughout the product lifecycle. NSF International was responsible for the only accredited American National Standard (NSF/ANSI 173) that verifies the health and safety of dietary supplements and also tests and certifies products to this very same standard.
